Corn Growers leader says trade agreement great for corn and ethanol

PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – Officials with the South Dakota Corn Growers Association are hoping the signing of the Japanese U.S. Bilateral trade agreement today will be the first of many promised by the Trump Administration. South Dakota Corn Growers Association Executive Director Lisa Richardson says the bilateral pact with Japan puts the U.S. on a level playing field with the CPTPP countries.

She says Japan is not only a great market for U.S. corn but also for ethanol.

Richardson says the Asian market is huge for South Dakota as all of the state’s agricultural products go out of the Pacific Northwest.
