Corps of Engineeers adjusting releases along Missouri River

OMAHA, Neb. (WNAX) – The Corps of Engineers is adjusting releases from dams on the Missouri River, attempting to balance inflows from upstream with continued high water downstream.

Mike Swenson, a hydraulic engineer with the Corps in Omaha, says they look to keep releases from Gavins Point Dam fairly steady.

Swenson says they are looking for the rise at Ft. Randall to slow down.

Swenson says Lake Oahe is still higher than normal.

Flooding has continued downstream, with Interstate 29 still closed in western Iowa.
