OMAHA, Neb. (WNAX) – The Corps of Engineers is rapidly running down reservoir levels on the Missouri River to get ready for spring runoff.
Mike Swenson, an engineer with the Corps in Omaha, says their storage is getting close to the winter level.
Swenson says the big lakes are still above their target.
Swenson says releases from Lake Oahe and other reservoirs will be stepped down over the next few weeks.
Releases from Gavins Point Dam are scheduled to drop to 17,000 cubic feet per second by the middle of next month.
