Corps of Engineers trying to balance reservoirs on Missouri River

YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – The Corps of Engineers is attempting to balance the reservoirs on the Missouri River as snowmelt picks up.

John Remus, Chief of the Water Management Division in Omaha, says inflows to Lake Oahe have increased considerably.

Remus says the flows into Lewis & Clark Lake have also been consistently high.

Remus says they have to change the releases from Gavins Point Dam.

Remus says they are watching the snowmelt along rivers and streams that feed into the Missouri River above Ft Randall Dam and may have to make other adjustments.
