Fort Pierre, S.D. (DRG Media Group) – The Oahe Capitals are hosting the Bantam A State Hockey Tournament this weekend (Feb 23-25, 2024) at the Expo Center in Fort Pierre.

Tournament Director Kari Behm says the top eight teams in the state have qualified for the tournament as the Cougars are seeded #4 and will take on the #5 seeded Oahe Capitals at 5 p.m. C.T. on Friday afternoon.

Behm says there is an admission fee for spectators and the concession stand will be open.

Behm says Bantam level hockey players are typically 7th, 8th and 9th graders.

Friday games are:

• #3 Yankton vs. #6 Watertown at noon CT
• #2 Rushmore vs. #7 Brandon Valley at 2:30pm CT
• #4 Aberdeen vs. #5 Oahe at 5pm CT
• #1 Brookings vs. #8 Huron at 7:30pm CT
