The Brown County Commission has looked at an option from the State Legislature to shift taxes from additional sales tax to reduce property taxes, Chairman Duane Sutton explains.

The slight increase would allow for revenue to also be gained from visitors to the area and help take the burden off Brown County property owners.

The Commission decided to leave it to the citizens of Brown County and will be up for vote in November.
