YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – Many counties in South Dakota share the same issue, more road and bridge repairs than they can afford to fix.
County Commissioners met in Pierre last week and Yankton County Commission Chairman Dan Klimisch says many counties have serious issues.
Klimisch says the commissioners passed a resolution asking the legislature for a local option half cent sales tax.
Klimisch says they also passed a resolution asking for more money for mental health services.
Counties have had millions of dollars in road and bridge damage from at least two rounds of flooding this year.
