COVID-19 cases continues to rise in South Dakota

YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- Covid-19 infections continue at a high rate across most of South Dakota.

Liz Healy, infection control specialist at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, says they have a high patient count.

Healy says they are seeing more parents bring their younger children in for vaccinations.

Healy says parents that have been hesitating should talk to their childs doctor about the vaccinations.

With the addition of five- to eleven-year-olds into the mix, about fifty four percent of those eligible in the state have been vaccinated against Covid-19.
