Covid-19 cases rising in South Dakota

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(WNAX)- Covid-19 infections are starting to trend up again in South Dakota.

Avera McKennan Chief Medical Officer, Dr Michael Elliot says there is a lag between exposure, infections and hospitalizations.

Elliot says the prevention tactics that helped lower numbers over the summer still apply.

Elliot says the same risk factors still apply too.

Elliot says health care facilities are hoping to avoid another surge of cases but are preparing.
