COVID challenging small town health care providers

FREEMAN, S.D. (WNAX) – Health care providers across the state are struggling to keep up with the demand for services brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Nick Brandner, Administrator at Freeman Regional Health Services, says it has been a challenging time.

Brandner says its been a difficult time for staff and patients.

 

Brandner says threats to the survival of small town health care providers have been around for a while.

Their medical center has 25 beds, while their nursing home serves about 60 residents. They also offer clinic services and assisted living facilities.
