COVID numbers decreasing, officials still urging precautions

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (WNAX) – While active COVID-19 infections in South Dakota continue to go down, health care officials are still asking people to continue taking precautions.

Sanford Health Medical Director, Dr Mike Wilde says they still have Covid patients in their hospitals.

Wilde says while the state is doing very well with vaccinations, it will take time to get to the public.

Wilde says information on public vaccinations will be widely distributed.

The state reported 242 people hospitalized, and over 5,100 active cases in their latest update.
