COVID numbers relatively unchanged

PIERRE, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – For the second straight day, COVID numbers continued to be light across all categories according to figures released by the South Dakota Department of Health today. The state had 434 new confirmed cases and 430 recoveries, increasing the amount of active infections to 6,034. Hospitalizations went up by two to 270, and there were no new deaths, leaving the state’s overall COVID-related death toll at 1,513.

So far, the state has had 101,076 confirmed cases and 93,529 recoveries.

Locally, Brown County had 29 new confirmed cases and 33 recoveries, lowering the amount of active infections to 284. The county has had 4,534 confirmed cases and 4,187 recoveries. There have been 63 COVID-related deaths.

Statewide, Minnehaha County has had 25,435 confirmed cases, followed by Pennington County with 11,520, and Lincoln County with 6,937. Other counties totals include Codington with 3,508 Brookings with 3,068, Davison with 2,745, Lawrence with 2,608, Yankton with 2,546, and Beadle with 2,526.
