PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- The Covid Relief Liaison Committee of the South Dakota legislature met Tuesday in Pierre and got an update on expected federal funding.
Joey Knofczynski, a fiscal analyst with the Legislative Research Council, had federal funding totals coming to the state this year.
Knofczynski says the state and local governments have some time to decide what to do with the money.
Knofczynski says there are some spending restrictions.
Most of the spending has to be connected to the Covid pandemic. The committee will have recommendations for the Governor when she sets her budget for next year.
