SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (WNAX) – The surge in COVID-19 infections across South Dakota is keeping health care providers busy.

Doctor Mark List, a family practice physician with Avera Health in Sioux Falls, says he has seen a variety of patients with the infection.

Researchers are moving quickly on a COVID vaccine. List says Avera is working on procedures to distribute those shots when they are available.

List says everyone will know when the vaccine is ready.

The state now has about 3,700 people with an active COVID infection.
