Crest Road, that crosses the top of Gavins Point Dam on the Missouri River near Yankton, will be closed for at least two months due to construction.
Gavins Point Operations Manager Tom Curran says the road just to the south of the power house needs to be replaced.
Curran says run off from the steep hill to the south of the dam is causing issues with the road.
Curran says it will be a tight spot to rebuild.
The Crest Road is heavily traveled, especially during the visitation season after Memorial Day. The road will be closed in the next week and may reopen in early June.
