ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – The Dacotah Prairie Museum is preparing to celebrate a milestone anniversary.
The local landmark is 50 years old. A special exhibit, opening soon, will document the journey. Lora Schaunaman, Curator of Exhibits, provides the details.
She said the exhibit will feature everything from the history of the building to the people who started the museum.
Schaunaman, who will be retiring after two decades at the museum, talked about one of her favorite projects, the wildlife gallery which has a variety of animals. She helped to transform the gallery from a blank wall to one featuring the animals in their natural habitat.
Schaunaman said she will definitely miss working at the museum.
