ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- Coming up on Saturday, the Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce is hosting their first cracker barrel session. Districts 1,3,23 members are all invited. The session begin at 10am at the Kessler’s Champions Room inside the Barner Center. It is free & open to the public.
Dakota Scout’s & South Dakota Broadcaster’s Association Austin Goss appeared on KSDN Midday Report to talk about some bills that could have an impact on our region.
Goss provide an update on water issues.
Goss talks about landowners being more on defense compared to last year’s session.
Goss talks about a bill(HB1186) introduced this week dealing with easements.
Goss discuss SB75 that deals with newspapers more associated with the internet than through publications.
Goss talks about SB32 which deals with the fairgrounds.
Goss provide an update on SB70 which deals with Richmond Dam.
One legislator that has very active so far at the start of the session is District 1 Senator Michael Rohl. One of the bill Goss discuss was SB39 that deals with prohibiting HOAs from banning firearms. The bill was approved with no Democratic support.
Goss also address another Senator Rohl’s bill(SB89) that address eviction notices for at will locations.
Goss acknowledged the work Senator Rohl has done with variety of bills that have already passed both chambers.
Looking ahead, the legislator is expected to address more pipeline related bills & a joint resolution encouraging people to not vote on the constitutional amendments authorizing abortions in South Dakota.
