The annual Dakotafest farm show is next week (Aug. 20-22, 2024) near Mitchell.

The American Farm Bureau Federation’s IDEAg Group LLC., organizes the three day event.

South Dakota Farm Bureau Executive Director Krystil Smit (smit. not smith.) says they will host an educational forum covering programs available to assist young producers at noon on Tuesday.

Smit says there will be a forum with the state’s Congressional delegation on Wednesday morning.

The morning of the third day of Dakotafest includes the announcement of the Dakotafest Woman Farmer/Rancher of the Year Award. This year’s nominees are Stacy Watembach, Kendra Olson, Sarah Easton, Erin Yost and Barbara Powell.
