Dakotans for Health heading to court over where to gather petitions

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(WNAX)- “Dakotans for Health” are going to court, challenging a ruling from the Minnehaha County Commission and County Auditor moving people gathering petitions signature away from the county building.

“Dakotans for Health” co-founder Rick Weiland says the site has long been used as a public gathering place.

Weiland says the move will hurt their ability to gather signatures.

Weiland says they will be asking for a temporary restraining order.

Weilands group is gathering signatures to put a food sales tax repeal on the general election ballot next year.
