YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- “Dakotans for Health” held a kickoff event Saturday to mark the start of their petition drive to put abortion rights into the state constitution.
Spokesman Rick Weiland says their petition has been approved for circulation.
Weiland says the state now has very restrictive abortion laws.
Weiland says they have a goal of getting over sixty thousand petition signature.
Signature numbers are based on ten percent of the total vote for Governor in this year’s election.
