Shane Sigdestad, 43, of Bristol, died in the crash, said Day County Chief Deputy Jerred Schreur although details on the crash and Sigdestad’s cause of death remain under investigation.

Schreur said deputies and tribal officers were called to a report of a vehicle in the slough. When law enforcement arrived, Schreur said, officers searched the area and found Sigdestad’s body.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, Schreur said. Investigators are also working to determine if Sigdestad died from injuries sustained in the crash, or if it was another cause like exposure in the water following the crash.
