MITCHELL, S.D. (KMIT) – The South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation is investigating a shooting which took place early Sunday morning in Mitchell.  The incident took place at around 2 a.m. in the 700 block of South Rowley when officers responded to a report of an individual shooting a gun.

Authorities have released no further details. Social media posts say shots were fired at police officers, and that a high speed chase followed on Highway 37 with police apprehending the suspect south of Mitchell.
