YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – The USDA Risk Management Agency reminds producers that the deadline to sign up for crop insurance for fall planted crops for 2021 is Sept. 30. Yankton Crop Insurance Agent Dave Hubbs says winter wheat and alfalfa growers have until the end of the month to sign up for 2021 coverage.
He says there was less winter wheat planted a few years ago but this year could be different.
Hubbs says he expects several producers to come in to enroll for crop insurance the latter part of the month.
Producers may select crop insurance coverage options including yield coverage, revenue protection, and area risk policies.
