ABERDEEN, S.D.(Hub City Radio)- The dedication of the Presentation Peace Circle took place on Thursday.

Sister Mary of the Presentation Sisters talked about letting go of the school and the mother house showed the resiliency of the group.

Mayor Travis Schaunaman spoke at the ceremony and he explained the working relationship with the Sisters and the city.

Mayor Schaunaman became emotional when he spoke about the tragedy affecting him following the death of his son in the paragliding accident in August.

Mayor Schaunaman talked about the importance of peace going forward.

Journey Construction was the business that helped with the project.  This is not the group that’s working on the Richmond Dam project.  They are all under the same organization.

Derek Hillman talked about how much they were able to recycle during the project.

Jarren Muncie was the foreman for this project and wanted to thank the local businesses that helped out.

There will be a second dedication coming up on Saturday, October 3rd.
