Aberdeen, SD (Hub City Radio) – Secretary of State Monae Johnson has announced that Robert Arnold, a Democratic candidate for Governor, did not have enough valid signatures to place his name on the Primary election ballot.
A Democratic candidate for Governor requires 1,232 valid signatures to appear on the ballot. The Secretary of State’s office conducted a random sample of the petition signatures and found 79.51% of the signatures to be valid.
Arnold submitted 1,407 signatures, and based on the results of the sample, 1,119 signatures were deemed valid.
