Democrats satisfied with some of the projects approved because of federal spending

YANKTON, S.D.(KYNT)- South Dakota Democrats are rallying around federal spending packages and their impact on South Dakota. Lawmakers recently wrapped up their annual legislative session, where they set up programs to spend the money.

The state received roughly $3.7 billion from the American Rescue Plan Act.

Democratic State Representative Ryan Cwach of Yankton was pleased with the budget.

Cwach adds that the Legislature funded some exciting state projects.

Lawmakers are also placing $200 million with the South Dakota Housing Authority to provide grants and loans for housing infrastructure investments in water, sewer, roads, and gutters.
