Democrats focus on issues in mid-session update

PIERRE, S.D. (WNAX) – Democrats in the South Dakota legislature held a news conference Wednesday for a mid-session update.

House Minority Leader Jamie Smith of Sioux Falls says they have been focused on main street issues.

Smith says they have bills addressing health insurance premiums.

Smith says Democrats are sponsoring a bill to help find money for education.

Legislators will take a four day weekend and will return to legislative day 21 out of 36 in the main run.
