Denver Air helped hunters make it to South Dakota

PIERRE, S.D.(DRGNews)- Travelers across the country are experiencing flight delays and canceled flights because of pilot shortages, weather disruptions or a plethora of others reasons. Late or missed flights can be troublesome on any trip, but they’re especially challenging when you have a limited number of options available to get to your final destination– such as Pierre. The situation can be compounded even further when you’re on a limited time schedule once you arrive.

Pierre City Commissioner Jamie Huizenga (high-zin-ga) says last week a group of 11 hunters arrived late at the Denver International Airport, thus missing their Denver Air Connection flight to Pierre. He says that’s when DAC came to the rescue.

Huizenga says the extra effort highlights the regional air carrier’s dedication to their customers and to the destinations Denver Air serves.

Denver Air Connection currently provides 12 flights per week between Pierre and the Denver International Airport, with there being two flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.

The company also flies non-stop from the Watertown Regional Airport to Chicago O’Hare and Denver International.

Denver Air’s federal Essential Air Service contract for both airports runs through May 31, 2023.
