Denver Air & Pierre Airport learning to adjust following snowstorm last week

PIERRE, S.D.(KCCR)- A powerful winter storm last week is becoming a learning experience for Pierre Regional Airport and Denver Air Connection.  Airport Commissioner Jamie Huizenga says Winter Storm Diaz was frustrating and challenging for P-I-R staff.

Huizenga was in contact with Denver Air officials during the four-day storm and says Denver Air found faults in their system, especially for customer service.  He read from an email from Business Development Director Jon Coleman, addressing those issues.

Among the changes is the addition of queue system to the call center.

Denver Air is working to add text message notification system and changes to interfaces when re-booking flights with third-party provides like travel websites.  In the email, Coleman says he is personally making sure any unaddressed issues from the storm with passengers are being taken care of.
