YANKTON, S.D. (WNAX) – South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem has moved to merge the state Ag Department with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, to create the new Department of Ag & Natural Resources. That issue came up in the recent District 18 Senate forum. Republican Representative Jean Hunhoff says there may be some cost savings.

Hunhoff says she has not seen a lot of information about the merger.

Hunhoff says she has not heard any issues with either department.

Hunhoff is facing Democrat Jordan Foos of Yankton in the run for the open Senate seat.
