Disaster Recovery Center to close in Yankton

PIERRE, S.D. (Press Release) – The Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Yankton will close at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019. Specialists in the DRC have been meeting directly with applicants to review their applications. Visits to the center have now slowed, leading to the closing.

South Dakotans who need help will continue to be served:

  • Online at DisasterAssistance.gov.
  • By calling the disaster assistance helpline at 800-621-3362 or TTY: 800-462-7585. Lines are open daily from 7 a.m.-11 p.m. Help is available in most languages.
  • At one of FEMA’s disaster recovery center locations. DRCs remain open until further notice in Madison, Mitchell and Sioux Falls. Find your closest center at fema.gov/drclocator or by calling the disaster Helpline. Centers are accessible and are equipped with video remote interpreting and assistive listening devices. Ask the DRC manager for an in-person American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter, if needed.
