District 3 House candidate Spencer Sommers discusses this year’s session

ABERDEEN, S.D.(HubCityRadio)- Back in November, Spencer Sommers announced he would run for one of the two South Dakota House seat representing District 3 which is the city of Aberdeen.

Sommers appeared on the KSDN Midday Report to talk about what the South Dakota Legislature did during the 2026 session.

Over 570 bills were introduced during this session, Sommers believes there should be a more efficient way dealing with bills.

Sommers addressed how the legislature dealt with data centers and economic development in general.

Property tax relief was a hot button topic throughout the session.  Sommers discuss providing property tax relief by shifting the tax infrastructure.

Sommers mentions how he would address property taxes for the Aberdeen market.

Sommers was asked how concerned he is with property taxes and the effect it has on the citizens in Aberdeen.
