YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- Planning and Development District Three in Yankton is in charge of the Governor’s house program for the state.

During his update to the Yankton County Commission this week, District Executive Director Greg Henderson said the houses are still moving.

The homes are built by inmates at the Mike Durfee State Prison in Springfield and then moved to towns across the state.

Henderson says despite the long wait, the homes are a good deal.

Prices now range from about sixty three thousand dollars for a two bedroom model to seventy six thousand for a three bedroom home.
