Drought conditions spreading statewide

SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(KELO)- Thunderstorms are building west of Sioux Falls…and the timing couldn’t be better.

The national Weather Service says drought conditions have been spreading in recent days.

Farmers like Jason Hofer of Bridgewater are hoping the storms arrive in time to save the crop.

Hofer says it will take a good two-inch rain to restore the corn crops.
