AMES, I.A.(WNAX)- Drought continues to expand over much of the northern plains.

Dennis Todey with the Midwest Climate Hub in Ames Iowa says the driest areas are in the central and northern parts of the region.

Todey says there have been changes on the drought monitor in the past week.

Todey says the drought area is the worst in years.

Todey took part in a special webinar sponsored by the National Integrated Drought Information System.
