Drug Enforcement Administration see increase in fake prescription pills containing fantanyl

OMAHA, N.E.(WNAX)- The Drug Enforcement Administration has issued a nation-wide warning about the increase in fake prescription pills that may contain fatal doses of fentanyl.

Emily Murray with the regional DEA office in Omaha says those pills are showing up in South Dakota.

Murray says Nebraska is also seeing a similar trend.

Murray says many of those pills contain a fatal combination.

Murray says there is an international pipeline that delivers the drugs to addresses across the region.

The DEA says last year, over ninety three thousand people across the country died of drug overdoses, many tied to fake prescription drugs.
