SIOUX FALLS, S.D.(KELO)- South Dakota has a critical need for more daycare.
The Department of Social Services is trying to make it easier for people to open a daycare.
Their efforts allow require fewer daycare workers and cut annual training hours in half.
Kayla Klein of the Advocacy group Early Learner South Dakota says scaling back in critical areas carries risk.
Many area daycares agree…saying the training is needed–especially for new workers.
The opportunity to offer testimony on the changes will close next Monday.
