PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- The South Dakota Department of Social Services will soon be issuing grants for new and expanded childcare facilities.
Department Secretary Matt Althoff told the interim Appropriations Committee this week they have been going through the applications.
Althoff says they will use “American Rescue Plan” dollars for the grants.
Althoff says the grants will provide room for lots of kids.
Adequate childcare is a pivotal piece of workforce development.
