Duvall looks at clean-up legislation in preparation of upcoming session

PIERRE, S.D. (KCCR) – District 24 Senator-Elect Mary Duvall will take up a seat in the 35-member State Senate in a few weeks as the 2021 South Dakota Legislative Session begins. Duvall got a free pass to the Senate running un-opposed and says that gave her more time to work.

That clean-up legislation includes property tax law.

Other clean-up legislation includes milk ordinances for cities and towns and allowing co-ops to use electronic technology for meetings. Duvall will chair the Senate Transportation Committee and says Senators may look to put one-time money in infrastructure.

Duvall says an electric vehicle fee bill has been proposed in previous sessions and will likely come before legislators on the Transportation Committee again this year.
