ABERDEEN, S.D.(WNAX)- Economic development agencies used to focus on landing that next big manufacturing plant with hundreds of jobs.

Mike Bockorny, Chair of the Aberdeen Development Corporation, says a lot has changed.

Bockorny says development has to be more broad based.

Bockorny says that is where the new “Economic Development Professionals Association” can help out.

The latest state unemployment rate was just over two percent.
