Economic rescue plan has billions of dollars included for agriculture

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WNAX) – The $2.2 trillion economic rescue plan passed by Congress also has about $40 billion included for agriculture.

South Dakota Congressman Dusty Johnson says much of that money will be used for another round of market facilitation program payments.

Johnson says the US Ag Department can also help the biofuels industry.

Johnson says Congress will have to keep the pressure on the Ag Department.

About nine and a half billion dollars of the ag package will be directed to livestock producers.
