OMAHA, N.E.(WNAX)- The economy in the nine state Mid America region is showing signs of strong growth.

Ernie Goss, an economics professor at Creighton University in Omaha, who coordinates the monthly survey, says it was kind of a surprise.

Goss says they asked business managers about issues they see ahead.

Goss says the region is seeing substantial job growth.

The survey covers businesses in states from Minnesota and the Dakotas to Oklahoma and Arkansas.
