El Nino now likely to come later on this year

AMES, I.A.(WNAX)- The National Climate Prediction Center is anticipating the development of an El Nino rapidly.

Dennis Todey heads up the Midwest Climate Hub in Ames, Iowa.

Todey says it is developing rapidly.

Todey says the change may be favorable to weather in the northern plains this summer.

The change to an El Nino comes after a La Nina faded away after three years.
