Enemy Swim Day School to receive Nita M. Lowey grant

WATERTOWN, S.D.(KXLG)- Enemy Swim Day School’s Out-of-School-Time Program has been awarded one of seven Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Center grants that provide funding for academic enrichment opportunities for students.

The Enemy Swim Day School program has been nationally accredited since 2004 and has received the grant each year since then.

This year’s grant recipients join 24 existing grant recipients across South Dakota.

Grants range from $50,000 to $300,000 a year, and they support out-of-school time activities. School districts, community-based organizations, and faith-based organizations are eligible to apply. Projects are funded for a period of five years based upon successful implementation and annual reviews. A total of 24 organizations applied for funding this year.
