PIERRE, S.D.(DRGNews)- Number of people flying out of the Pierre Regional Airport ramping back up as the busy hunting season approaches
Over 1700 people flew out of the Pierre Regional Airport last month. Of the total, 695 were on Denver Air Connection flights and 1014 were on SkyWest flights.
City commissioner Jamie Huizenga (high-zinga) says September was the third month of having two commercial air service companies operating flights from Pierre to Denver.
Huizenga says the Pierre airport has met and surpassed the required number of enplanements for an Essential Air Service community to become eligible for $1 million in funding from the FAA.
You can see flight schedules for both Denver Air Connection and SkyWest, flying as United Express by going to either company’s website, to united.com or to the Pierre Regional Airport website.
