PIERRE, S.D. (KCCR) – August enplanement numbers at Pierre Regional Airport have been released and are slightly higher than July. August enplanements at Pierre Regional reached 504, four passengers more than July at an even 500. There were 228 in June, 127 in May and only 41 in April.
Airport Liaison to the Pierre City Commission Jamie Huizenga says the change is steady.
Huizenga says they’re optimistic about the upcoming pheasant season travel.
So far four-thousand 720 people have flown out of Pierre Regional Airport in 2020. Because of the slowdown in air traffic and for pandemic related budget reasons, the City of Pierre is postponing a parking lot expansion project to 2021.
