Executive Board to guide the Housing Authority over spending

PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- The Executive Board of the South Dakota legislature signed off on a letter of intent to give guidance to the Housing Authority over new spending.

Legislators approved spending two hundred million dollars mostly for infrastructure needed for housing development across the state.

Representative Roger Chase of Huron outlined what the resolution would do.

Senator Lee Schoenbeck of Watertown said they want the Housing Authority to get moving on the pending projects.

Senator Troy Heinert of Mission was unhappy that the bill didn’t specify dollars to low income projects.

The letter of intent was approved and sent to the Housing Authority.
