Executive Director of SD State Employees Organization surprised that Appropriation meetings coming this week

PIERRE, S.D.(WNAX)- The Joint Committee on Appropriations of the South Dakota legislature is scheduled to hold four days of budget hearings before the start of the 2022 session of the legislature.

That has the attention of Eric Olilla, Executive Director of the South Dakota State Employees Organization.

Olilla says while the committee can’t take official action, they can set spending directions.

Olilla says the early sessions probably can’t be held next year.

The committee will meet Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday this week and on Monday January 10^th. The session officially begins on the 11^th.
