Exhibit offers history lesson of epidemics in Aberdeen

ABERDEEN, S.D. (HubCityRadio.com) – An exhibit that had been in works for more than a year could not have been more fitting.

The display called “Epidemic” is located in the Harvey Jewett Regional Science Education Center on the campus of Northern State. The idea came from Lora Schaunaman and Marianne Marttila-Klipfel of the Dacotah Prairie Museum.

Amy Dolan, Assistant Professor of Biology and STEM Outreach Coordinator at NSU, talked about the display.

She said the display offers a history lesson of epidemics in the city.

Hours of the display are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. It will be up until August. She said the response has been very positive.

Dolan said she is proud to live in a community like Aberdeen which cares so much about its residents.
