YANKTON, S.D.(WNAX)- Expanding broadband internet service to all corners of the state is a priority for telecommunication companies.

Denny Law, C.E.O. of Golden West says outside funding is needed to serve many rural areas.

Law says they have relied on a federal program for many years.

Law says the Connect SD program funds are useful in the underserved areas.

Law says the state considers areas around Rapid City and between Yankton, Vermillion and Beresford as underserved regions.
